CHAPTER 26
Hmm! Today I'll say was a great day (reason withheld) sorry this is coming late.
Woke up this morning feeling really strong because I'd slept early last night to make up for the sleep I lost the day before yesterday.
Didn't do any chores today, just woke up, went to buy breakfast, made it then ate it. After that I went straight to the TV for a while before the power supply off then I brought out my sketch pad and started sketching. Was sketching a friend whom I was planing on surprising with the drawing together with a happy new month messages. But I couldn't finish the drawing because Neye came around and told me her Momsy needed my help. We chilled a little because I was unprepared for such move, after a while we then set off to meet her Momsy at her location and that was when my day went south.
We waited there for hours Neye and I before mom could finally need us. While waiting we were both been flogged my hunger but couldn't get anything to eat aside from the groundnut I bought with my last 50 Naira ---how frustrating---. We fisted on that till it was time to go home, we had plans of going to her place to consume the rice that she had prepared but unfortunately I couldn't go with her because my mom had call me to come help her stay in her shop while she go for a wake keep.
I got to moms shop with hunger like the height of mountain Everest, fortunately I saw an African dish precisely from the Yoruba side of Nigeria call “Alama”, so I bought that of 100naira, my last cash--- Ya, i know I said I used my last 50naira and I was correct, it was my last 50naira not my last cash---. You need to see the manner and spend at which i devoured this dish, it was like I haven't eaten for over a year. After I was done, am was a bit calm but was still feeling weary from the days activities. Few minutes after, mom came back with “puff puff” which i also ate like I didn't eat the Alama, after that I was filled. Hung around for a while then I helped her packed then leave.
On my way back I used the bank then went to Neyes place to pick off my power and along side helped her pack her bags as she'll be leaving for East Nigeria by Thursday. Did that till 9:11pm them I started coming back home.
Now am home, talking to mom while writing to ya'll. My monthly subscription has expired and I might not be constant with my post for now till I re-subscribe again which am sure will be soon.
Ll: “Hunger is never a good thing, it can make a bright day go dull”
